Debtors' Rights : A Legal Self-Help Guide

Description

Discusses how debtors can settle debts without legal assistance, defines different debt types, examines options available to both debtors and creditors, and describes how to budget and perform a personal assessment

Compound words In Deal, Bill Kreutzmann, one of their founding members and drummer for every one of their over 2,300 concerts has written an unflinching and wild account of playing in the greatest improvisational band of all time. Everything a rock music fan would expect is here, but what sets this apart is Bill's incredible life of adventure that was at the heart of the Grateful Dead experience. This was a band that knew no limits and Bill lived life to the fullest, pushing the boundaries of drugs, drums and high times, through devastating tragedy and remarkable triumph. When the Man in the Moon brought together the Guardians, he warned them that they would face some terrible evils as they strove to protect the children of earth. But nothing could have Debtors' Rights : A Legal Self-Help Guide free pdf prepared them for this: Pitch has taken Katherine. And now the Guardians are not only down one member, but a little girl is missing. Fortunately, MiM has just the man to join the team. Sanderson ManSnoozy-known in most circles as the Sandman-may be sleepy, but he's also brave and strong and skilled at utilizing sand in a myriad of ways. If the rest of the Guardians can just convince Sandy that good can triumph evil, that good dreams can banish nightmares, they'll have themselves quite a squad. But if they can't...they might never see Katherine again.

Viewed as a precursor to the narrative style and characterisation she perfected in her later works, such as 'Jane Eyre', the novel is Bronte's portrayal of a love story from a male perspective. Writing from the point of view of orphaned young teacher, William Crimsworth - the sole male protagonist among Bronte's works - the author allows herself a freedom of action in love and will that reveals her character's loves, desires and ambitions as he forges a new life on his own terms in Brussels. William finds himself caught between the desire he feels for Zoraide Reuter, the beguiling head of the girls' school where he teaches, and the gentle love he feels for one of his pupils, Frances Henri. Exploring questions of love, identity, freedom and independence, 'The Professor' is an important work in the small opus that is Charlotte Bronte's significant contribution to English literature.

Hiroshige: One Hundred Famous Views of Edo

Description

This title features Hiroshige's Edo: Masterful ukiyo-e woodblock prints of Tokyo in the mid-19th century. Literally meaning 'pictures of the floating world', ukiyo-e refers to the famous Japanese woodblock print genre that originated in the 17th century and is practically synonymous with the Western world's visual characterization of Japan. Because they could be mass produced, ukiyo-e works were often used as designs for fans, New Year's greeting cards, single prints, and book illustrations, and traditionally they depicted city life, entertainment, beautiful women, kabuki actors, and landscapes. The influence of ukiyo-e in Europe and the USA, often referred to as Japonisme, can be seen in everything from impressionist painting to today's manga and anime illustration. This reprint is made from one of the finest complete original sets of woodblock prints belonging to the Ota Memorial Museum of Art in Tokyo. Hiroshige (1797-1858) was one of the last great artists in the ukiyo-e tradition. Though he captured a variety of subjects, his greatest talent was in creating landscapes of his native Edo (modern-day Tokyo) and his final masterpiece was a series known as "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo (1856-1858)". This resplendent complete reprint pairs each of the 120 large-scale illustrations with a description, allowing readers to plunge themselves into Hiroshige's beautifully vibrant landscapes.

With its sights, sounds, and colorful past, it s a particularly eventful and involving Paris visit. "Los Angeles Times" The perfect gift for all ages, Pinocchio as you've never seen him before: telling his own story through the master storyteller and Emily Dickinson's Poems: As She Preserved Them download book award-winning author of WAR HORSE. "Now - there's no point in pretending here - I was, and still am deep down, a puppet. Everyone knows Pinocchio is a puppet. I reckon I must be just about the most famous puppet the world has ever known. But the truth is I'm not just a puppet, I'm more than just bits of wood and string. I'm me. So I thought it was about time that I, Pinocchio, told you my story..." So begins this stunningly beautiful interpretation of the classic story. Michael Morpurgo channels Pinocchio's words to tell the famous puppet's story in his own inimitable, cheeky and always funny way. Lavishly illustrated throughout in full colour by the acclaimed Emma Chichester Clark, this is a must-have gift for all book lovers, and an utterly charming and surprising adaptation of a much-loved tale.

Emily Dickinson,Christanne Miller: Emily Dickinson's Poems: As She Preserved Them

Emily Dickinson's Poems: As She Preserved Them

Description

Emily Dickinson s Poems: As She Preserved Them is a major new edition of Dickinson s verse intended for the scholar, student, and general reader. It foregrounds the copies of poems that Dickinson retained for herself during her lifetime, in the form she retained them. This is the only edition of Dickinson s complete poems to distinguish in easy visual form the approximately 1,100 poems she took pains to copy carefully onto folded sheets in fair hand arguably to preserve them for posterity from the poems she kept in rougher form or apparently did not retain. It is the first edition to include the alternate words and phrases Dickinson wrote on copies of the poems she retained. Readers can see, and determine for themselves, the extent to which a poem is resolved or fluid. With its clear and uncluttered pages, the volume recommends itself as a valuable resource for the classroom and to general readers. A Dickinson scholar, Cristanne Miller supplies helpful notes that gloss the poet s quotations and allusions and the contexts of her writing. Miller s Introduction describes Dickinson s practices in copying and circulating poems and summarizes contentious debates within Dickinson scholarship. Emily Dickinson s Poems: As She Preserved Them brings us closer to the writing practice of a crucially important American poet and provides new ways of thinking about Dickinson, allowing us to see more fully her methods of composing, circulating, and copying than previous editions have allowed. It will be valued by all readers of Dickinson s poetry. "

Pearls Before Swine

Description

World War II is limping to a close, but it isn't the Germans who are troubling the Dowager Marchioness of Carados right now. The problem is the potential derailment of her son's wedding by the discovery, in his bed, of the body of a distinctly inappropriate girl who seems to have swallowed a fatal handful of pills. Never one to be cowed, the Marchioness enlists a friend to dump the body in a temporarily empty flat. But the flat's owner?Albert Campion?returns home unexpectedly, on brief leave from the war. Understandably a bit put out, Campion determines nonetheless to carry out his original plan: A fast change of clothing and then off to the country. The police, however, have other ideas.

But beneath these riddles lies one truth: Cassie has been betrayed. So has Ringer. Zombie. Nugget. And all 7.5 billion people who used to live on our planet. Betrayed first by the Others, and now by ourselves. Sourdough bread (also known as artisan bread) is made by a long fermentation process of dough that uses naturally occurring or "wild" yeasts and Lactobacilli. Recent studies have shown that sourdough fermentation can also encourage digestive healing in people with Celiac disease when eaten as part of a Gluten-Free diet. For several years researchers have been experimenting with sourdough as a way to make bread made with wheat safe for people with Celiac disease. To make Sourdough goods baked with wheat flour safe for Celiac's, Candida Sufferers and anyone following a Gluten-Free diet, all of the flour used in a recipe must ferment with the Sourdough Starter for at least 7 hours. It is this Pearls Before Swine free pdf process that "kills" or renders the gluten harmless. Most store-bought "Sourdough" breads are not baked using this method nor a traditional starter and thus, despite being "Sourdough," are not safely gluten-free. Artisan bread uses shorter proofing times (it's ready to bake in 2-1/2 hours) and was designed to be baked in both the Dutch oven and traditional bake ware (bread pan, etc.)... It's more versatile. It well suited for those who want to make no-knead bread, but... don't want to wait 8 to 24 hours. Those who want bread machine bread, but... don't want to buy and store a bread machine. It's for those of you who want a fast reliable way to make fresh from the oven bread without the hustle of kneading, expensive machines, or requiring a Dutch oven. It is indeed a very easy way to make a bread without any expertise needed. This book will enhance your knowledge and skills to create a wonderful and delicious artisan bread of your own.

Peter, Paul and Mary Magdalene: The Followers of Jesus in History and Legend

Description

Bart Ehrman, author of the highly popular books Truth and Fiction in The Da Vinci Code, Lost Christianities, and the New York Times bestseller Misquoting Jesus, here takes readers on another engaging tour of the early Christian church, illuminating the lives of Jesus' most intriguing followers: Simon Peter, the Apostle Paul, and Mary Magdalene. What does the Bible tell us about each of these key followers of Christ? What legends have sprung up about them in the centuries after their deaths? Was Paul bow-legged and bald? Was Peter crucified upside down? Was Mary Magdalene a prostitute? In this lively work, Ehrman separates fact from fiction, presenting complicated historical issues in a clear and informative way and relating vivid anecdotes culled from the traditions of these three followers. He notes, for instance, that there is no evidence to suggest that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute (this legend can be traced to a sermon preached by Gregory the Great five centuries after her death), and little reason to think that she was married to Jesus. Similarly, there is no historical evidence for the well-known tale that Peter was crucified upside down. A serious book but vibrantly written and leavened with many colorful stories, Peter, Paul, and Mary Magdalene will appeal to anyone curious about the early Christian church and the lives of these important figures. "An informed but breezy look at the myths surrounding Jesus' most influential followers...This book contains valuable historical scholarship. It also encourages readers to approach the Scriptures with fresh and enlightened eyes." -Christian Science Monitor

Rock the Shack: Architecture of Cabins, Cocoons and Hide-outs

Description

From weekend homes to get-away cabins in the mountains, by the sea, or in the woods, this architecture embodies our longing for lounging in nature. For the first time in the history of humankind, more people live in cities than in the country. Yet, at the same time, more and more city dwellers are yearning for rural farms, mountain cabins, or seaside homes. These kinds of refuges offer modern men and women a promise of what urban centers usually cannot provide: quiet, relaxation, being out of reach, getting back to basics, feeling human again. Rock the Shack is a survey of such contemporary refuges from around the world--from basic to luxury. The book features a compelling range of sparingly to intricately furnished cabins, cottages, second homes, tree houses, transformations, shelters, and cocoons. The look of the included structures from the outside is just as important as the view from inside. What these diverse projects have in common is an exceptional spirit that melds the uniqueness of a geographic location with the individual character of the building's owner and architect.

In "quick, translucent prose" (Michiko Kakutani, New York Times) that is at once lyrical and unsentimental, D. J. Waldie recounts growing up in Lakewood, California, a prototypical post-World War II suburb. Laid out in 316 sections as carefully measured as a grid of tract houses, Holy Land is by turns touching, eerie, funny, and encyclopedic in its handling of what was gained and lost when thousands of blue-collar families were thrown together in the suburbs of the 1950s. An intensely realized and wholly original memoir about the way in which a place can shape a life, Holy Land; is ultimately about the resonance of choices-how wide a street should be, what to name a park-and the hopes that are realized in the habits of everyday life. 20 illustrations and a new introduction for this paperback edition.
